Dr Nisha Jagasia

A highly experienced gynaecological oncologist, Dr Jagasia specialises in the surgical management of patients with confirmed or suspected gynaecological malignancy and complex benign gynaecological pathology. Her special interests are minimally invasive (key-hole) surgery and the use of intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for ovarian cancer.
Dr Jagasia focuses on the holistic management of women with gynaecological malignancies throughout their treatment journey. She has expertise in complex pelvic surgery and aims to use minimally invasive surgical techniques where indicated.
Dr Jagasia received her Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2012. She completed her Gynaecological Oncology Sub-specialisation in 2016 through the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and Mater Hospitals in Brisbane. Dr Jagasia has also completed fellowships in advanced gynaecological laparoscopy, general and colorectal surgery and most recently a peritonectomy and HIPEC fellowship at the National Peritoneal Malignancy Institute in Dublin, Ireland. Dr Jagasia has also been awarded a Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care in 2013.
A member of Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer Research (QCGC), Dr Jagasia is active in research and is the primary investigator in ongoing studies on endometrial cancer surgery. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and teaches medical students and trainees undertaking Gynaecological Oncology training at the Mater Hospital.
